In 1977, Walter Bernard hired me to work at Time. I stayed for 16 years, ending up as Graphics Director. This is a small news map reporting on an explosion in the Uffizi Museum, in Florence. As is typical with newsmagazine work, the deadline was short— in this case the whole job was completed in about three hours.
